So it would have been very easy to just leave the camera on a tripod in one of the rooms of the house and let it click away under timer control. But it would not be hard to anticipate the outcome and so for this exercise I wanted to do something a little different, making use of different viewpoints and compositions.
I picked as my subject matter a municipal bandstand. In keeping with much of our town this is Victorian in character and shows of some iron work which is almost certainly local, Bo'ness having one of the few remaining iron foundries in Scotland, the Ballantine Bo'ness Iron Co Ltd. The images in this set were taken on a couple of different days and at varying times of day to include both morning and late afternoon/early evening. I did not attempt any nighttime shots as the bandstand is not normally illuminated.
1) Shot of the complete bandstand, light is behind me so that the shadow from the bandstand roof falls out of site behind the structure:

6) Shooting from inside, flatter light due to passing clouds, showing perimeter detail and directing the eye to a splash of colour from the surrounding gardens:

I particularly like this set and may think about including some of them into the next assignment.
