The images were taken using a 70-200mm zoom with IS set to mode 2 for panning. Shutter speeds varied, typically between 1/200th and 1/640th s but being an evening shoot with fading light meant an ISO of 400 was required. A low sun position meant flare was a potential problem, my limited position at the perimeter of the arena was such that I had to be careful not to shoot into the sun. Going the other side of the arena to have the sun behind me would mean the action would be further away, obscured by the activity on a practice and warm up area. And timing the shot for the jump was sometimes challenging.
